Helps build a foundation for life: one child & one community at a time.

Poverty is interconnected. Children can't learn if they're hungry. They can't thrive if they don’t go  to school. They can't be healthy without clean water. We address these barriers not in isolation, but together, helping children build foundations on which to create their life dreams.

Children of Vietnam serves children by removing barriers to opportunity and providing comprehensive support. We foster lasting change through a collaborative ecosystem of donors, communities, and partners.

Our Hope System of Care for Children with Disabilities program (HSC) offers wraparound services for children with disabilities. These children receive healthcare, physical aids, therapies, nutrition, education, and training for life skills.  The services promote independence and well-being one step at a time.  And, each step represents a huge leap for a child. In addition, the  program expands local capacity and supports children with disabilities with assistance in five major areas.

Investing in children and equipping them with a sound education helps lift children out of poverty. Through our Bright Scholars and Study Steps Tutoring and Life Skills Training programs, we provide scholarships , tutoring and educational aids for children living with the daily constraints of poverty in Vietnam. In addition, Through our Building Blocks program, we construct kindergarten facilities in rural areas. Ultimately, we help children become proud, self-sufficient adults by making a solid education a reality and giving them an opportunity to give back to their communities.

Education

We believe that all children deserve a healthy start in life. Through our Soup Mix program  we provide vitamin-fortified food to kindergarteners and their families who experience food insecurity through lunch and learn programs, holiday food gifts and emergency food relief distributions.

Empowering Single Mothers

To help break the cycle of poverty, we work with single mothers who live at the bottom of the socioeconomic ladder. We help these mothers provide their children safe, stable, and healthy homes and ultimately overcome poverty. Our Empowering Foundations for Women & their Children (EFWC) program provides comprehensive services tailored to meet single mothers’ immediate needs while helping them develop life-long financial and business skills that lead to self-sufficiency and resiliency.

Clean water, sanitation, and hygiene are essential for children to maintain good health and to develop physically and mentally.  They are essential for parents to stay healthy to work and care for their children. We install large water filtration systems in schools and villages in remote areas with limited access to clean water-improving the health and quality of life for children and their families.
