Thanh Xuan Nguyen has a Masters in Business Administration from New York University, a Bachelor in Economics from the University of Lausanne and a Trainer’s certificate from the Global Health Action in Atlanta, Georgia.
Born and raised in Vietnam, Thanh Xuan worked for the Central Bank of Vietnam when she became a refugee in 1975. This experience changed her career from banking to organizing displaced communities in the U.S. and overseas.
Thanh Xuan is presently the Disaster Case Manager at the New York Council on Adoptable Children and previously at Catholic Charities where she assisted families displaced by Super Storm Sandy in 2012. Prior to this position, she was the Vietnam Country director for the Asian American Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy and managed a fellowship program for Vietnamese Americans in organizations serving people with disabilities and victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin.
