Jennie joined the COV team in fall 2019 after hearing about the organization’s good work from a former board member. She loves the people and mission of Children of Vietnam and looks forward to helping build brighter futures. When she first arrived in North Carolina in 2016, Jennie managed an organic vegetable farm where she grew food that was good for people and planet. Before relocating, she lived in Blacksburg VA where she co-founded and managed a weekend feeding program for children and a community garden for people from low-resource families. She has written extensively about this work in journals and a book as well as freelancing on other topics like gardens, local history, and high school sports. She earned a BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Virginia in 1991 and a MALS in Humanities from Hollins University in 2009.
