Education Initiative
For poor children in Vietnam, education can be the ticket out of a life of poverty. Education in Vietnam is not free, however, and many children from poor families cannot afford to go to school.Others live in remote areas and lack access to schools altogether.

More than 1.6 million children of primary school age remain outside the educational system, and 40% of poor children who do attend school drop out between the ages of 12 and 20.No parent should have to choose between educating their children and putting food on the table.

Children of Vietnam gives poor children the start they need in life through our Education Initiative, composed of the following programs:

Bicycles for Education provides children with the means of traveling to and from school.

Kindergarten Building Blocks constructs kindergartens in rural areas, giving children the best start possible for a good education.

Tutoring for Success provides after school tutoring for street children and orphans to improve their chances of continuing their education.

Primary/Secondary Scholarships provides assistance to disadvantaged students to allow them to attend school.

University Scholarships opens the doors of higher education to bright young disadvantaged students, giving them the opportunity to develop their talents, broaden their horizons, and contribute to their community.

Vocational Scholarships provides the opportunity for poor young people to learn an employable trade by attending a vocational school.
